My pontoon dock and channel is very bad with water weeds. Can I use copper sulfate to kill the weeds with out corroding my pontoons. I have a 2020 Godfrey Sweetwater. My first use the motor water inlet clogged in less that 100 yards. Looking for a suggestion, Thank You

I got a response from my dealer, which also owns and operates a marina. Here's what he stated when I asked if the aluminum pontoons would react to copper sulfate:
"Copper sulfate on its own does not react with aluminum. If added with sodium chloride, producing a vigorous displacement reaction which illustrates the reactivity of aluminum. The solution gets very hot, the aluminum dissolves and red copper becomes visible."
