Can I just sit my tritoon 2286 directly on my lift I beams?

I just bought a 2286 tritoon and have a lift question. I have a 4 post lift with 2 I beams. Can I pad the I beams and just sit the boat directly on the beams? That would give 2 6" support points to each tube.
