Tilt Trim gauge working backwards. Any ideas?

I have a 2002 196FF with a 2002 Yamaha 115 4 stroke. Bought used none of the gauges worked last year. Now all work except the tilt trim. I replaced the sender and trim tab. New and old gauge work in reverse. The wiring for the rest of the gauges is standard with IGN-purple GND- blk Light - Blue. Do I need to buy a OEM Yamaha Gauge? Comig from the sender is 2 wires BLK and pink w/ blk stripe.
