Fishing seats, 2014 Sweetwater bowride

I have a 2014 Sweetwater Bowrider. The posts for the fishing seats get stuck in the "socket" in the deck. They are almost impossible to remove.
Can you explain why they have become so tight and what I can do to make them easier to remove?
Regards

I took out the whole socket and caulked the holes

    Hi CRF
    Thanks for the reply.
It's not that I want to remove them completely. We do use them to fish from as they are meant to be used.
However we  often use the front deck as a platform for the kids to swim and dive from so the seats are in the  way, also I need to be able to remove the seats and posts and put them away when the pontoon is not in use and the covers are on.
So I need to find a way to make them easy to take out.
    Cheers
    Steve
