How do you empty and clean the gas tank on an Aqua Patio

Apparently ethanol laced fuel has caused havoc with my fuel system. Have taken apart the carburetor and cleaned it, but now I'd like to empty the gas tank and make sure it is clean before filling with ethanol-free fuel. As a boy I was pretty good at siphoning gas, but wonder if there is an easier way.

we siphoned 50 gallons of stale gas from a boat last year with a siphon from Walmart. This year I bought one online with a ball valve you shake to get it started with flow, sorry don't recall the brand0
