Replace gas cap with chain on a 2017 Godfrey Pontoon

Hi!

I bought a replace gas cap for my pontoon. It has a chain on it. How do I replace it?

    Is the chain designed to go inside the fill tube? If so, I doubt that you will be able to use it. My 2016 fill tube has a check valve built in that would, I think, prevent putting a retaining chain inside.

    Is this a cap that you purchased from your Godfrey dealer?

    I have a chain on mine from the factory.

    Well, I could be wrong like so many times before. My suggestion is, and probably should have been, to check with his dealer.
